MicroSpine represents the future of endoscopic laser spine surgery. We specialize in treating patients with prior failed spinal surgeries and fusions. MicroSpine manufactures special instruments and develops new techniques to perform the most complex microscopic laser spinal surgeries through portals of 1/4 to 1/2 of an inch. The science of spine surgery is ever changing and MicroSpine is the one changing it. Our surgeons have performed over 8000 minimally invasive spinal surgeries and most of our patients are referred by other prior satisfied patients and not promotional seminars or expensive advertising. Our staff has personally pioneered the development of many endoscopic spinal techniques including; endoscopic sacroiliac joint surgery, endoscopic facet surgery for spinal arthritis, endoscopic laminoforaminoplasty and thoracic percutaneous laser discectomy. Since we are the originators, we regularly publish our findings in peer reviewed journals and are world recognized for our advancements in endoscopic spinal surgery.

Unlike others, we don't claim to perform minimally invasive spinal surgery and then offer you a major fusion or an incision of greater than one inch. All of our spine surgeries are minimally invasive and no one has more advanced spinal surgical techniques than us. Our minimally invasive spine surgery techniques are so advanced that patients who have failed "minimally invasive spine surgery" from other centers regularly benefit from our procedures. We are spine surgery specialists and nothing else. We don't make outrageous promises or stop caring for you once you're gone. We may not spend millions on advertising, seminars or fancy websites because we would rather spend our time and money caring for you "the patient". We try to contract with insurance companies whenever possible to keep your costs down.

MicroSpine is a small doctor owned company and thus we can keep your costs low since we try to put you first instead of corporate investors and thus you get the best care, at the best price, by the best M.D.'s who are here to help you get better. As we always say, once you're our patient, you're always our patient7.

Why Should You Choose MicroSpine?

All of our spinal surgeries are minimally invasive and no one has more advanced spinal surgical techniques than we do. We are unique because:

No Incision of Larger than One Inch1 (Some people utilize tubular retractor systems that are up to 26mm or 1 inch in diameter. This requires an incision of up to three inches - which is no different than a conventional open surgery.)

Cost2 Lets face it. Cost can be a real issue. As a patient at MicroSpine, you the patient comes first and that is why we attempt to contract with insurers whenever possible. If we are not contracted with your insurance provider, you will find the cost of your surgery at MicroSpine can be far less than at any other facility.

No Cell Saver3(Cell saver is an auto-transfusion which is used by many other minimally invasive spine surgeons.) Because of the surgical techniques used by the surgeons at MicroSpine, this is not required since blood loss is minimal.

All of our physicians are Board Certified M.D.'s (Click Here to Learn About Board Certification)
Other facilities may not even staff M.D.'s, much less Board Certified M.D.'s. Our physicians are also scientists and have years of research and publications behind what they do. We are the only major center that regularly publishes on Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery.

All of our M.D.'s have hospital privileges. The complication rate for our surgeries is very low, but if there is an issue, you can be assured that our physicians will take care of you.

No expensive physical therapy is needed4.

No general anesthesia is required5. (Only sedation is needed, which is much safer.)

At MicroSpine, we eliminate any guesswork regarding your diagnosis. Our diagnostic testing procedures involve more than just MRI and CT Scans. If needed, our unique pain mapping techniques confirm your diagnosis before surgery - thus improving your chances for success and helping to eliminate unnecessary procedures6.

Our facility is Medicare certified.

MicroSpine is contracted with most major insurance carriers.

And quite importantly, we've been doing this for a long time! Our longevity includes our facility, as well as the board certified staff M.D.'s. who perform the life changing procedures that our patients need and deserve.

MicroSpine Cares about People and the Community. MicroSpine's Pain Physicians regularly treat underprivileged and Medicaid patients because caring for people is what we do.

What Can MicroSpine Do For Me?

We specialize in "Incurable" back pain, leg pain, cervical pain, failed back syndrome, failed spine surgery syndrome, headache, spinal stenosis, thoracic pain, radiculopathy, spondylolisthesis, and disc herniation. We can often resolve pain due to prior spine surgeries and spine fusions! You don't need a 6 to 12 inch incision, and you probably don't need a fusion or metallic disc to cure your pain. With conventional spine surgery, recovery time is months, but with our endoscopic spine surgery procedures, you can walk the same day as your spine surgery! If you smoke, you don't need to stop to have spine surgery. Our physicians have performed thousands of minimally invasive spinal surgeries. All of our Doctors are Board Certified Medical Doctors (M.D.) and have outstanding credentials which we proudly display on this site. In fact, we challenge you to compare our credentials to other spine surgeons on the state medical board sites.

Disclaimer: MicroSpine's surgeries are an alternative to conventional surgery and thus both conventional surgery or our endoscopic surgeries may benefit your condition. No spine surgery is 100% effective in every patient and there is never a guarantee with any surgery. Footnotes - we want to be clear about the above statements.

1 Our surgeries are truly minimally invasive which is defined as an incision of an average of less than 3/4. (If the incision is greater than one inch then it is a conventional surgery and more invasive.) Occasionally, for endoscopic hardware removal, an incision of slightly greater than one inch is required for removal of the screws or rods of the hardware.

2 As with any out-patient surgical procedure, the total cost of the procedure is comprised of more than one component. Patients receive separate billings from the facility, the surgeon, the anesthesiologist and possibly other providers. We want to keep your costs down! Always ask your insurance provider to consider contracting with MicroSpine.

3 Cell Saver is a machine that attempts to recycle your blood after it is lost during surgery. Many other minimally invasive spinal surgeons use these devices when excessive bleeding occurs. The surgeons at MicroSpine find it unnecessary to utilize them. If the surgery is truly minimally invasive, excessive blood loss should not be an issue.

4 Our surgeries do not require physical therapy in most cases, but if you desire physical therapy, it can be a part of your treatment when you return home.

5 We use special sedation mixture during surgical procedures, which results in comfort but safety during the surgery.

6 MicroSpine has treated patients from every continent except Antarctica.

7 MicroSpine always is available to help prior patients with their concerns. Obviously, certain issues can only be handled in person and thus there are limitations of what can be done via phone or email. Also, MicroSpine physicians have the right to refuse treatment of individuals who they feel may be abusing medications or not acting inappropriately.
